That was last week! As the roof had been built, we began to wonder whether sedum would be the best option - or whether wooden tiles called cedar shingles might be a better and more cost-effective option.

In order for us to plant sedum onto the roof we were going to need a special waterproof membrane which was more expensive than using cedar shingles. And the cost of the infrastructure needed to support the sedum was going to add further cost.

So, today, another really useful meeting with our builders and architect.

A decision taken - a cedar shingle roof for the whole build. And the possibility of your favourite blogger becoming a roof tiler. 500m2 of roof shingles here we come!!
