What an absolute beauty….
Our visit to Liesjärvi National Park was already special. Five black-throated divers on the lake had made it so. Here’s the lake on which the divers performed. One of the divers makes a cameo appearance if you look hard enough.
My iPhone photo does no justice to the luxurious velvet-purple iridescence of the opened wings. In the US the butterfly is the mourning cloak. I can see why.
Only nature can deliver these emotional knock-out punches. And this one was on the chin.
