Brightening .. with a buzzard

Dismal February days.

Low cloud.

Drizzle.

Cold.

But today the sticky rain that started the day and aspired to be snow has passed.

Snowdrops

Primula vulgaris

Native primrose - primula vulgaris

The garden is brightening as the thinnest of winter suns appears lighting early flowers with colour and bringing it alive with the movement and calls of birds.

Buzzard on perching post

Buzzard on birch stump

Fifteen bird species before mid-morning cuppa. All the usual suspects of course but intriguing to note two buzzards, not high overhead but in the garden using the perching posts we’ve created especially for their use! Frustratingly out of distance for my camera.
